In our day to day lives outside the oil and gas industry, camera and video technology has evolved massively over the recent years. EV's downhole video technology is now bringing a similar evolution to the oil and gas industry. Video images show exactly what is happening downhole and remove the need for indirect deductions and guesswork.
This video is a good example of that change. The operator had been milling on a flapper valve and after milling was unable to get down with a bridge plug. A lead impression block was run and the still images show the results, living up to the name of 'confusion block'. EV's M125 memory camera was then run and the difference between the lead impression block and the camera is there for all to see. The flapper has been partially milled and is now lying on its side. The conclusive images from the video allowed the operator to fish the flapper and carry on with wellbore operations.
