EV’s downhole video technology is ideally suited to inspecting sand screens either for damage or blockages. In this video from Saudi Arabia HD, e-line was run providing both colour and high frame rate video.
In the upper part of the well the video showed corrosion and apparent organic build-up which is highlighted by the colour sideview camera.
The upper sand screens were then inspected with both downview and sideview cameras and shown to be in good condition.
In the lower sand screens below 1600m the camera shows clear build-up inside the ports and as the camera is lowered down it reaches an obstruction which appears to be material from the blocked screens.
EV’s cameras are also used to evaluate the effectiveness of screen cleaning operations, identify damage to screens and even detect sand entry into the wellbore.
